Just because Toyota excels in the creation of innovative vehicles doesn't mean the automaker keeps its hands in the automotive world. In fact, just recently Toyota announced its reach into the realm of education by forming a partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA).
More specifically, Toyota will help fund an incredible program called "D2D - Diploma to Degrees." Designed to help students move from high school to college, D2D provides fiscal resources as well as mentoring and support to Boys & Girls Clubs of America youth across the country.
Martin O'Malley, Governor of Maryland and strong proponent of BGCA, says, "To move forward in this changing new economy, we must create jobs and expand opportunity - and education is the best tool we have."1
Of course, the cost of education proves to be a brick wall on many students' path to earning a college degree. That's why Toyota has promised to provide a $1.5 million grant over the next three years to supporting current BGCA students. In addition to fiscal backing, Toyota will also encourage its team members to volunteer as mentors and college coaches through their local BGCA groups.
Toyota and its relationship with youth education is just one of the many reasons East Coast Toyota is so proud to carry the brand on our lot at 85 Route 17 S Wood Ridge, NJ 07075.
