In Europe, it's called the GT 86. In Japan, it's referred to as simply "86." In the U.S., however, it hits the digital screen under the guise of the FT-86 concept. What exactly are we talking about? East Coast Toyota is referring to the creatively-marketed, highly-anticipated sports car that Toyota has kept under wraps for quite some time. We know it as the FT-86 concept model, but the coupe production model has already been released under the aforementioned names in parts of Europe and Japan. Until the FT-86 is brought to the U.S. market, we are thrilled to announce that you can test out the ride in Gran Turismo 5.
As part of recent updates, the video game offers users the chance to download a free Toyota FT-86 to their virtual garages. Once the model is within your digital hands, East Coast Toyota encourages you to take full advantage of all the FT-86 power. More specifically, gamers and Toyota fans will be able to get a sneak preview of what its 2.0-L "D-4S" Flat-4 engine can do.
Sure, unleashing 197 ponies might be a bit more satisfying in real life but for now, Gran Turismo 5 packs a pretty pleasing punch as well. One source notes, "Gran Turismo 5 features more than 1000 licensed cars from the world's top manufacturers and more than 20 tracks with more than 70 variations, including famous world circuits, city courses, and other environments."1 Sounds like the perfect environment for a high-performing new Toyota model to us!
In order to find out when the FT-86 will arrive and under what moniker it will do so, be sure to contact the brand experts at East Coast Toyota, 85 State Hwy 17 Wood Ridge, NJ 07075. Also, don't forget to stay tuned to our blog for more information on other Toyota initiatives and models.
